7 Troubleshooting

Problem Caused by / Conditions Solution

After switching the unit on no LED on

the front panel is lit.

Failure of the power line fuse. Check the fuse.

(The fuse is integrated in the main

power connector on the backside of

the instrument.)

Electronics failure. Call service center.

Increased noise and drift. Leaking cell, dirty cell, bubbles,

non-transparent mobile phase, old or

bad lamp.

Perform Cell test with lamp test

included.

Check cell connections.

Check mobile phase.

Check cell purity manually.

Install pressure regulator.

Electronics / Optics failure. Call service center.

Leaking cell. Broken window, or leaking seal. Repair or replace the cell - see

chapter 6.3 “Cleaning and replace-

ment of cell windows”.

Warning or error message. - See next two sub-chapters. Try

resetting the error. If resetting does

not solve the problem, call the

service center.

After switching the unit on the

display is not working and the red

LED (ERROR) blinks.

Display electronics / power supply

failure.

Call service center.

7.1 Internal display error codes

Any failure in conjunction with the internal communication of the detector or its display electronics is

considered as internal error. Any time an internal error occurs the red ERROR LED blinks.

Code Meaning Repair

01h Power is down! Call service center.

02h Non-volatile memory failure! Call service center.

04h Digital-analog converter failure! Call service center.

08h Display failure! Call service center.

10h Detector communication failure! Call service center.

20h Detector communication timeout! Call service center.

40h Interface device failure! Call service center.
